PFPR Communications - September 2007

As the UK's leading PR and events agency specialising in the automotive industry, PFPR Communications has to ensure it delivers top quality events to its clients in the UK and Europe. To do this we have a checklist covering three levels when researching and sourcing hotels for our clients' events. The first level covers essential basic requirements relating to the suitability of locations with regards to transport links, plus the range and quality of facilities and services available at the hotel. The second level is a wish-list of features that build upon the basics to ensure the event is not just successful but special. The third is impossible to quantify as it's based upon emotions - an atmosphere, a warmth, an ambiance that make an event truly memorable.
Having used The Torridon for the first time - for a nine-day event to launch a new Mazda car to the automotive media - I found that it ticked all of the boxes on level one (helped by some fantastic roads for the test-driving). The style of the hotel and the beautiful, peaceful surroundings added much more on the second level wish-list too. But what makes a good hotel great is the people, the service and the food - and this is where The Torridon really scored top marks. "Memorable" really is the only word to describe it - which is why we will be using it again.
